Online Auctions Are The Ideal Venue To Retail Costco Customer Returns

Author: Kay Huna

Welcome back!

A broadening trend on online auction sites such as eBay is to find shopper returns auctions which generally consist of goods which have been returned to a store for a variety of reasons and are then resold to liquidation merchants. This tactic permits stores to get rid of unwanted goods at a lower cost than would be associated with processing them, or having the issue of people trying to return already damaged stock.

Few wholesale suppliers have contracts to purchase Costco returns and you will discover that those that do are able to supply these sorts of goods at well below regular wholesale cost. Really, you may be surprised at just how cheaply returns are retailed.

As a retailer, if you are able to locate a wholesale retailer that has contracts to purchase Costco returns, you will be enabled to purchase pallet lots of items from them and you will be able to start your own customer returns auctions.

How you manage these sales is wholly up to you, but you may want to contemplate selling smaller lots or individual goods, or even a combination of both. Whatever you opt to do it’s likely that you will discover that there are many people out there that want to purchase these goods, as it can save them great loads of capital of the retail prices also.

On places such as eBay, a lot of consumers will be ordinary people that are searching for a bargain in dollar store merchandise. They know that eBay is the best place to get goods online, and for you that means you don’t have to have so much effort selling your goods to potential consumers. If you can supply attractive graphics and a good description of your items,`goods, you will realize that people will be delighted to snag a deal.

Another alternative to customer returns auctions is to promote items for sale on a classified listing website such as craigslist or even the classified section of your local newspaper.

This is an especially good method to retail damaged goods, as local trades people usually scour classified adverts for damaged goods or as seen on tv products that they can either refurbish or employ parts from.

Many people are put off from purchasing customer returns in bulk lots as they are concerned that none of the goods they will receive are going to be saleable. In general, that’s not the case and although some goods will be difficult to retail on, many will be in good second hand condition or with some minor blemishes. For example, in the case of wholesale clothing returns you may realize that some goods are missing a button or have separated at the seams, but many people are willing to purchase goods that are affected by these conditions as they have the means to simply fix them. Naturally, if you are handy yourself with a sewing machine, you could simply fix them up yourself and retail the clothing as nearly new.

Whatever your plans may be, it all begins with locating a good wholesale supplier that can provide you with the dropship products you are searching for, from there, the road to success will be on the horizon.
